Kyle, I've heard the same. Apparently Maddux and Smoltz play at least 1 round of golf with Tiger Woods during the offseason. I don't know how long ago I had heard this, but there was talk that Maddux could make a go at the PGA Tour and has a legit shot. Could be an interesting story to follow if in fact he goes that route.

I met someone who lives next to Greg Maddux and golfs with him all the time.

I've heard he is an INCREDIBLE golfer. Maybe he'll put more time into that hobby.

I thought for sure Maddux would try pitching one more year with Atlanta, but the Braves had little to no interest in bringing him back, which is really unfortunate.

He has to be a first ballot Hall-of-Famer without question and will always be remembered as one of the greatest pitchers of our time.

I'm just hoping we won't see him pull a Brett Favre, but I imagine that once Greg says he's finished, he's finished. I wonder if we won't see him turn up somewhere as a pitching coach...maybe in a few years.

I've been preparing for this for awhile now, but it still saddens me. He is/was one of my favorite players because of the way he handles his business and the way he wins games.

I'm still holding out hope the Big 3 retire together, but it doesn't look like that will happen unfortunately.
